Fresh User Interface

We hope you will fall in love with the brand new Placeport user interface as soon as you see it. Not only did the Visual Editor get a new paint job, but we have also made dragging, animations, and general usage feel much more snappy and responsive.

Improved Data Handling

Placeport’s blocks, wrappers, design settings, and layout meta are now stored in custom MySQL tables. We have carefully planned out the data structure to ensure that your work will be more reliably stored. We’ve also taken steps to cache all Placeport data from the MySQL tables with the Placeport Transient and Caching APIs to your Placeport site stays speedy.

Snapshots

Let’s face it — losing work is a major waste of time and money! Fortunately, we have added Snapshots in Placeport. Snapshots are a simple backup system for Placeport that allows you to rollback to any snapshot and restore all blocks, wrappers, layout settings, as well as design settings at any time. Placeport will also automatically store snapshots when you save in the Visual Editor.

Placeport Launch Day: First impressions

It’s been a very exhilirating week. Since launching Placeport a few days ago, we’ve had some exciting feedback, are fortunate to have some great new partners and clients using Placeport, and now have some excited pioneers from all around the world, each building their own unique business website, using the Placeport Visual Website Manager.

The most exciting part is: Placeport is now being used to build websites in Swedish, Spanish, Chinese, French, and more.

Thanks to the Placeport community and all you designers and creatives out there for all the support. We can’t wait to see the amazing sites people will build with the Visual Editor.
